Fashion Design Degree Show... 'IGNITE' Collection

'IGNITE' was my final fashion collection to complete my degree in fashion design at University of Ulster. Here are some images of my pieces from the show...

'IGNITE'

"IGNITE is a 9 piece capsule collection inspired by the extravagance and imagination of the circus and carnivals. Lights, colour and reflective textures create the magical atmosphere and experience.
 Key influences came from the fast paced and exciting movements of the carnival rides and firework displays. The pieces aim to bring the magic of the night into the day, with casual, relaxed shapes contrasted with formal fabric, vibrant, unique digital prints and hand embellishment. 
The collection is fun, bright and detailed, full and flowing skirts represent the movement and life within the carnival and fairgrounds. Swarovski crystals, metallic silks and satin are key fabric choices throughout the collection, creating an eye catching and alluring light display of its own."

A Snapshot of Summer

This is literally how I spent my summer, spending time with family and catching up with friends. When I returned from America these were the most important things to me. This post is a snapshot into my summer. I spent the day in Dublin with my family. I opted for a summery and comfortable outfit as the weather was amazing this year!

Leopard and Leather...

Todays outfit of the day is an example of what I tend to wear to class here and at home, casual and comfortable..., well to me anyway, as a lot of people here consider this style 'dressed up'!! It is extremely interesting the difference in options where levels of formality of clothing are concerned with different cultures. 

I have paired faux leather trousers with a grey knit top (NEWLOOK -last year) with slight gold sparkle and a chiffon vintage leopard print scarf that I stole from my Nanny!! haha this mix of textures creates interesting details to the outfit. 

I kept accessories simple with just my watch and some bracelets. (Thomas Sabo)As per usual I wore my nude studded TOPSHOP flats, could not live without them!

Peaches and Rainbows...

One of the many things I was excited about to arrive in the US was that I would have access to products that I cannot get at home. 

My first excitement was the Kardashian Kolor collection for Nicole by OPI, I'm a bit behind on this venture I know but to order this collection to the UK at the time it was released was more than most would pay for a nail polish, so I decided to wait...

I picked up the glitter polish - 'RAINBOW IN THE S-KYLIE'. It takes a number of coats to reach the desired glitter effect but in the end it glitters beautifully and with a good top coat can last a few days. 

Here I have paired it with Sally Hansen, complete salon manicure in 'FIRST KISS' which is a pale peachy shade.
